Cornyn and Tillis called it ironclad.

The Senate Judiciary Committee advanced Todd Blanche's nomination for attorney general on Tuesday in a party-line vote. Blanche, currently acting attorney general and formerly Trump's personal defense lawyer, cleared committee after a deal with Sens. John Cornyn and Thom Tillis to block a proposed 'Anti-Weaponization Fund' for Trump allies including January 6 defendants. Public Citizen notes Blanche facilitated a seven-figure settlement for a pardoned abortion clinic protester a week earlier, payable from the Judgment Fund regardless of the deal; Sen. Susan Collins announced her opposition late Tuesday, after the votes were secured.
