A nighttime ICE arrest run like a film shoot: a cinematographer at a monitor cart calls the frame while the officer's shock-gloved hand is pushed behind a black cutter flag, out of shot. A boom operator dangles a microphone over a police chief describing the product; a director's chair reads COMPLIANT TECH; a script supervisor holds up a stopwatch at 0:99 and a clapper slate reads TAKE 27.

ICE published plans on August 10 to buy $20 million of electric shock gloves from Compliant Technologies, for delivery to officers by March 2027. A Cape Girardeau assistant chief praised the device as "low optic" because it leaves no burn marks or scars, while a pending wrongful death suit alleges a 43-year-old man was shocked 27 times with the gloves, including bursts of 45 and 99 seconds against a manufacturer limit of 15 seconds. The company once called the device a weapon on Instagram before rebranding it as a de-escalation tool; Amnesty International says such devices are readily misused for torture.
