Luis Manuel Aviles Roa, a Nicaraguan man, was detained by ICE after a vehicle stop in Key West while his son, Joshua Aviles, serves aboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln. The sailor has been deployed more than nine months in the Middle East; the Lincoln spent over 200 consecutive days at sea without a port call. DHS said having a family member in the military 'is not a free pass to violate our nation's laws'; the family says they were awaiting green card approval.
